Chehalis River floodplain moisture and what it means for a slab

The glacial outwash under Rochester drains quickly, which is generally good news for a slab, but it is not the whole picture. Fast-draining subgrade combined with a high winter water table still produces meaningful vapor drive, and outwash gravel subgrade is prone to differential settlement if it was not properly compacted — which shows up as cracking through the slab.
